Education & Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Experience working with children with special needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Registered Nurse (SN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Certification as a School Nurse (CSN) preferred, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
License/Certification:
Registered Nurse (SN) license in the state of Illinois.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Special Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assessing students’ health needs and implementing nursing care plans
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date health records for all students
- Communicating effectively with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers regarding students’ health concerns
- Providing health education to students, staff, and parents on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention
- Responding to medical emergencies and providing first aid as needed
- Collaborating with school administrators to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Participating in school health screenings and immunization programs
